Katy Perry celebrates her 35th birthday at the Giza Pyramids

CAIRO – 1 November 2019: American star Katy Perry shared her photos from her last visit to Egypt on Instagram.

”Ancient Egyptians believed that when you pass on your heart had to be weighed. It had to be lighter than a feather to be qualified for the trip to the afterlife. My mother has called me feather since I was a little girl and I hope after all is said and done my heart is as light as one. This is 35” stated Perry on her official Instagram account.

The Famed American star visited a number of Egyptian tourist attractions such as Siwa Oasis, White Dessert , Giza Pyramids among others.

In one of the photos Perry appeared wearing ‘’Galabya’’ which is the Egyptian traditional costume along with Egyptian driver from Upper Egypt.

Perry was born in October 25, 1984. She started a career in gospel music as a teenager.

Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.

After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

She briefly studied Italian opera at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. Her singing caught the attention of rock artists Steve Thomas and Jennifer Knapp from Nashville, Tennessee, who brought her there to improve her writing skills.
