OMA Emirates and UnionPay Collaborate to Create a SoftPOS Solution for Pakistan and ME

OMA Emirates Group LLC, a market leader in payment systems and solutions, today announced a partnership with UnionPay International to create SoftPOS, a Point of Sale (POS) solution for the Middle East and Pakistan that will significantly boost the acceptance of touch points throughout these countries. SoftPOS will be available in these countries by the end of the year. In keeping with UnionPay’s aim for digitalization, the cutting-edge SoftPOS solution will be highly affordable and safe and turn NFC-enabled (Near Field Communication) smartphones into a POS, providing POS Acquirers in the area with a much-needed affordable option.
Payments made using SoftPOS will be just as safe and secure as those made using a traditional POS terminal. SoftPOS makes it easy for merchants and SMEs to use contactless payment, enabling companies to get beyond problems with handling cash and other operational difficulties brought on by the exchange of actual currency, tender, or money. SoftPOS can do away with the need for in-store cash registers and allow company owners to accept contactless payments on portable smart devices like mobile phones and tablets. SoftPOS may also enhance customer experiences and open up new doors for the retail industry to employ its human resources more creatively.

The tap-to-phone solution will help consumers who have the NFC feature enabled accept payment digitally through contactless payments. This can be facilitated by tapping the NFC-enabled card or mobile device on the merchant’s Android mobile phone with NFC functionality.
