GACA is intensifying its preparations and efforts to arrange for the repatriation of Saudi citizens abroad

Newsgate360 – Riyadh: In implementing the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense (may God bless them both), the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has completed its preparations and taken all the necessary measures and procedures to serve Saudi citizens located abroad who wish to return to the kingdom.

Al-Mansouri clarified that GACA has completed its preparations and took all necessary measures and procedures, where it prepared the Kingdom’s international airports (King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam), to receive flights of those Saud citizens wanting to return to the Kingdom, all while following certain measures and health procedures.

His Excellency stated that GACA, in cooperation with the relevant government agencies, is working to provide flights for the citizens’ return plan, in coordination with the national carrier, Saudi Arabian Airlines.

GACA has prepared a joint operating room in all three international airports with the participation of each of (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Presidency of State Security), with the aim of coordinating and unifying efforts between the relevant government agencies to receive Saudi citizens who wish to return to the Kingdom. Furthermore, GACA took all precautionary and preventive measures needed to combat the Novel Coronaviruses, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. GACA is preparing departure and arrival points, aircraft crews and airports to ensure the application of the necessary precautionary measures in this regard.

It is worth noting, that GACA has provided modern equipments for the sterilization and disinfection of terminals, at each of King Khalid International Airport (Riyadh), King Abdulaziz International Airport (Jeddah) and King Fahd International Airport (Dammam), where field teams conduct disinfection and sterilization operations on a continuous 24 hours basis, while using environmentally friendly materials, in accordance with the highest international safety and health standards, to help prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus disease. GACA will also provide medical sterilizers for passengers in all parts of the three international airport terminals and will be distributing masks, medical gloves and providing medical advice to every arriving passenger. This in addition to delivering their luggage to their designated quarantined quarters.

Furthermore, GACA in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, will implement many preventive measures for Saudi citizens wishing to return to the Kingdom. All arriving passengers will be subjected to a health examination and will pass through a mandatory thermal cameras. Furthermore, qualified medical teams will be present at the three international airports to perform the necessary precautions. Meanwhile, sterilization and disinfection of aircrafts will be performed after all the passengers have disembarked.
