The Ajman Department of Tourism Development concluded on Saturday the 3rd edition of the Ajman Duathlon 2022 race at Al Zorah with the participation of 150 athletes. This successful event which was organized in collaboration with Endurance Sports Services witnessed a wide participation from people of different age groups and nationalities. The Ajman Duathlon race, which comprised of running and cycling, witnessed a great level of competitiveness as it involved professional, amateurs, and children participants of various abilities. The race included 4 main categories: Long (10km run – 40km bicycle – 10km run), Sprint (5km run – 20km bicycle – 5km run), Super Sprint (2.5km run – 10km bicycle – 2.5km run), and Junior Super Sprint (1.5km run – 5km bicycle – 1.5km run). The race was concluded by awarding the first 3 winners of groups being the Age Group, the Emirati Group, and the Open Group for all nationalities while all participant received their finisher medals.
On this occasion, His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, praised the success of this event and thanked the organizing team for their endless efforts to achieve it, and highlighted that sports events highly contributes in achieving an important strategic objective of Ajman Tourism which is to bring people together and create harmony between social classes. Alhashmi stressed that Ajman Tourism is keen to organize more sports and cultural events as sports tourism is considered as a key interest of Ajman which serves in promoting the emirate’s leading position on the local and global tourism map. His Excellency also pointed out that the department’s yearly agenda is rich with events and activities that are enticing to people of different interests and nationalities.

Alhashmi stated that the Ajman Duathlon race and other successful sporting tournaments prove Ajman’s capacity to host and organize all types of public events which positively impacts the recent growth and prosperity of the tourism and hospitality sector in the emirate.
The Ajman Duathlon race was held in collaboration with a number of stakeholders from the Ajman Police, the Saudi German Hospital, the Volunteer Team, Nabdh Al Emarat Volunteering Team, Ceikli, Cykl Garage, Infinity Gym, B. Healthy Restaurant, Triathlon Hub, Sharjah Triathlon Team, National Emergency Response Volunteer Programme – SANID, Al Zorah Development Company, Gulfa Water, and Ice Tub.
