‘X’ has been chosen as Twitter’s official logo in place of the famous bird. Elon Musk made the announcement of the adjustment over the weekend, prompting this action.
Musk tweeted that x.com is now also redirected to twitter.com, which is noteworthy. Musk also described this design as “interim” in the post, so a future logo update may be in order.
Chief Executive Officer Linda Yaccarino tweeted “X is here! Let’s do this, Yaccarino also posted a picture of the logo projected on the company’s offices in San Francisco. The new logo is the latest change since Musk bought the social media platform for $44bn last year.
On Sunday, Musk had said in a series of posts on his account that he was looking to make the change worldwide as soon as Monday.
Musk intended to replace the Twitter logo and asked his tens of millions of followers if they supported switching the site’s blue to black colour scheme.
He tweeted: “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds”.
“X” the new logo was criticised by several users while the “#GoodbyeTwitter” was trending on the social platform with reference to the old one.
