The two-day Global Summit of Women 2023 under the theme “Role of Female Leaders in Peace Building, Social Integration, and Driving Prosperity”, kick off in Abu Dhabi, today,
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak and organized by the World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) and the General Women’s Union (GWU), Summit will commemorate the 100th anniversary of women receiving the right to vote. Sheikha Fatima is also the president of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and the Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
The Summit is being held in tandem with the growing need to establish a global forum for dialogue to express solidarity, unite efforts to share views, exchange experiences, and provide solutions to shared challenges, such as the gender gap, domestic violence, social and economic marginalization, and address intellectual and cultural barriers facing empowering women, along with providing additional opportunities for women to lead in society.
At this pivotal time in human history, speakers and attendees will discuss a wide range of challenges faced by women and explore solutions for fostering intercommunal harmony, inclusiveness, and prosperity. It will be attended by personalities and scholars from over 100 countries.
