Saudi Arabia moved up from position 27 in 2019 to position 13 in 2023 on the International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s index of air connectivity.
The Kingdom climbed a record-breaking 14 places in the survey, which features more than 200 nations. It connected to 131 places to reach its greatest connectivity level.
The Kingdom has achieved record-breaking results in terms of social and economic growth, and the most recent improvement on the connectivity index represents a continuation of those results. Among these accomplishments are the Kingdom’s 94.4% score on the ICAO safety audit report and its seventh-place finish among the Group of Twenty (G20) nations in aviation safety. In addition, Saudi Arabian air travel had a 42% increase in passengers during the first four months of 2023 compared to the same time the previous year. As a result, there were 35.8 million travellers in the first four months of this year as opposed to 25.3 million during the same time in 2022.
