Majid Al Futtaim’s VOX Cinemas opens new multiplex in Town Square, Jeddah

Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas, the dedicated cinema arm of Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail, and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, has launched a new multiplex at Town Square, Jeddah. The inauguration was attended by His Highness Prince Bandar Bin Khalid F. Al Saud; Mr. Nasser Bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, UAE Consul-General to Jeddah, the admired Saudi singer Mr. Abdulrab Idrees and Mr. Mohamed Al Hashemi, Country Head of Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Saudi Arabia.
The opening of the new entertainment experience marks VOX Cinemas’ 11th movie theatre in Saudi Arabia and consolidates its ambitious expansion plans across the Kingdom as part of its commitment to Vision 2030.
The 12-screen multiplex boasts numerous firsts including the Kingdom’s first MX4D, the newest evolution in 4D cinema, and ICE (Immersive Cinema Experience), which provides a truly sensorial experience. It will also feature IMAX with Laser and two of VOX Cinemas’ signature concepts: KIDS, a colourful and dedicated auditorium for young movie lovers; and VIP, which offers discerning movie lovers a more luxurious experience. Guests can also indulge in their favourite cinema snacks from Nutella and Candy Bar.
VOX Cinemas is dedicated to providing innovative and integrated family entertainment and its Yalla! Bowling experience provides families with a wide array of fun games and activities on site. In January, VOX Cinemas will launch Phase Two, which will see the introduction of a first-of-its-kind entertainment experience called SoCo and additional F&B outlets to complement the cinematic experience. SoCo promises to be the perfect hangout spot for guests looking for world-class leisure and entertainment facilities and will feature nine-hole mini golf, a 12-lane bowling alley, a wide variety of arcade games, as well as an array of F&B outlets.
With a total of 124 screens across 11 movie theatres in four cities, VOX Cinemas is the largest exhibitor by screen count, admissions and market share and the largest independent distributor in the Kingdom. VOX Cinemas was also recently awarded ComScore’s Highest Grossing Exhibitor of the Year in the Middle East at the 2020 META Cinema Forum.
