Jazan’s 950 Arabian Jasmine Farms Offer Investment Opportunities in the Production of Essential Oils

The Arabian jasmine is the most well-known scented shrub grown in the Jazan region. This flower, along with the hala tree (Pandanus tectorius), narcissus, and other aromatic plants, have been a part of folklore and social heritage, associated with weddings, holidays, welcoming guests, commemorating birthdays, and giving visitors to Jazan high-value gifts on all occasions.

Due to the importance of the Arabian jasmine to the people of Jazan, farmers expanded its cultivation; now it is planted in over 950 farms in the region, according to recent statistics issued by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

Association of Arabian Jasmine and AromaticIts chairman, Mohammed Al-Hobani, said that the association “aims to be a pioneer in the cultivation of Arabian jasmine and aromatic plants and downstream industries, and to provide comprehensive investment solutions for all farmers and those interested”.
