Riyadh – Asdaf News:
The Saudi Culture Exhibition, hosted by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission in Paris, has drawn tourists from France and Europe.
The experience offered to visitors includes a photography exhibition by French photographer Terry Moujie, featuring his comic books, rare manuscripts, and reproductions of ancient structures. His most well-known work is presented in the southern part of the Kingdom.
As one of the strategic goals of the Ministry of Culture under the auspices of the Saudi Vision 2030, the exhibition featured an introduction to the “Translate” initiative, the philosophy conference, and the writers and readers festival in addition to a display of several local costumes to encourage cultural exchange between the Saudi and French communities.
The events of the first week highlight the high calibre of the cultural programme arranged by the Commission on Literature, Publishing, and Translation in collaboration with the Commissions on Heritage, Libraries, Music, Culinary Arts, Architecture and Design, Fashion, Film, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Centre for Arabic Calligraphy.
The opening week of the festival included poetry events and short films made as part of a competition that supported the film industry.
Eight symposiums, three poetry evenings, five brief screenings, and the screening of the documentary “Tarouq” are all scheduled for the second week of the event. Additionally, there will be a panel discussion on the King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism, three performances featuring handicraft demonstrations, capacity-building, and techniques in the heritage of handicrafts.
By this involvement, the cultural sector hopes to draw attention to the originality and inventiveness of the hundreds of years of Saudi culture. Among other things, seminars on Saudi literature, translation initiatives, and cultural and musical fusion will be presented.–SPA
