BIBAN 23 Awards for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Worth SAR 10 Million

The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat), which hosts the BIBAN 23 Forum, has announced the start of over 13 competitions and hackathons with prizes totaling more than SAR10 million to encourage startups to highlight their entrepreneurial endeavors and to help develop and build novel solutions to a range of problems. The event will take place at the Riyadh Front Expo and Convention Center from March 9 to March 13, 2023.

Under the theme “Opportunities to realize entrepreneurship,” BIBAN 23 aims to promote technological entrepreneurship, identify young people’s digital capabilities, help them develop their ideas, spread a culture of creativity and innovation, and strengthen the idea of teamwork in order to find, collect, and promote innovative technological ideas.

The awards include: the Entrepreneurship World Cup Award, the Prince Abdulilah bin Abdulaziz Award for Entrepreneurship and Supporting Productive Families, the “She is Next Award” in collaboration with Visa, the annual KPMG Competition, and the launch of the Women in Tech Competition. The annual “Innovate” Award will also be announced at the event.

The following competitions will be held: the digitization challenge to improve customer experience in the real estate industry; the launch of the cybersecurity challenge in collaboration with the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE); technology startups; the robotics war; the “Azouma” contest; the search for the robot through the virtual world in intelligence centers; the programming field; and the quiz U employment competition from Oqqol Company.

Hackathons will witness: robot hackathons, Cyberthon IQ hackathons, launch of Smarts Plus, launch of link app, launch of sports innovation lab with Saudi Al-Hilal Club, launch of PT way agreement, launch of Saudi Post Innovation Center, launch of UN competition, and launch of Innovation Week.

Through BIBAN 23, the participating teams of entrepreneurs and startups will participate in a variety of training workshops, lectures, brainstorming sessions, and hands-on activities provided by experts in entrepreneurship and innovation. The teams will compete with innovative projects judged by juries, experts, and business partners, and winning projects will be chosen, according to specific criteria.

Aiming to achieve one of the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 by increasing the contribution of SMEs to the GDP to 35%, the BIBAN 23 Forum attracts more than 500 entrepreneurs and brings together more than 120 empowering and supporting institutions. These institutions help foster communication, assist young people by providing them with entrepreneurial ideas, and support them by providing funding options.–SPA
