Today, Sotheby’s Dubai officially opened its doors with a massive display showcasing the breadth of Sotheby’s global offers, including auctions and private sales. All under one roof, visitors to the DIFC will be able to see the best in the fields of gameworn memorabilia, brilliant gems, sought cutting-edge timepieces, unique artefacts from the Islamic world, and modern and contemporary paintings by Middle Eastern artists. The exhibit is on display at Floor B2, Gate Village Building 3, Dubai International Financial District, from February 28 until March 3. Below is a complete list of public opening times.
The display includes:
- Michael Jordan’s Six NBA Championship Sneakers as the first time an auction house has exhibited streetwear in the Middle East.
- Exceptional Jewels & Watches From The World’s Leading Houses, including jewellery by Van Cleef & Arpels, Schlumberger for Tiffany, Cartier, David Webb & Harry Winston alongside rare timepieces by Rolex & Patek Philippe.
- Modern and Contemporary Art From The Middle East, highlights from the Prestigious Al Zayani Collection by Gazbia Sirry, Fahrelnissa Zeid, Mohammed Melehi, Hassan Hajjaj & more
- Rare Historic Objects and Qur’ans From Islamic World, led by a 16th century manuscript from the Legendary Shah Tahmasp Shahnameh.
