The schedule of short films for the Xposure International Photography Festival’s 2023 show, which runs from February 9 through February 15 at Expo Centre Sharjah, has been released.

This year’s film screenings, which will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023, will be a captivating voyage through the lenses of accomplished filmmakers from around the world, showing a wide variety of stories that are certain to inspire, educate, and delight.

These movies will be shown, along with a number of other screenings of movies that will be up for Xposure Awards throughout the festival.

The movies will be shown as a succession of compelling shorts, each of which will focus on a particular theme or subject.

From Alireza Kazemipour’s moving novel “The Gold Teeth,” about an Afghan refugee in Canada who seeks assistance from an Iranian ex-dentist, to Dilum Alagiyawant i’s “The Great Elephant Gathering of Asia,” a celebration of the majestic elephants and the significance of conservation efforts. The book “It’s Good Business: Moving Beyond Conservation” by Simone Kisiel examines how business and the environment are related, whereas Akbar Shahbazi’s “Kefsan” narrates the tale of Rahman Mard, whose paralysis makes him despondent.

The documentary “Eyes Of The Orangutan” by Aaron Gekoski is a must-see for wildlife lovers since it highlights the unethical aspects of the wildlife tourist sector. Photographers will be taken on a visual journey by Ian Ruhtr’s “Obscura,” which highlights the elegance of wet plate collodion photography.

James Balog’s “The Human Element” is a potent synthesis of art and science that emphasizes the effects of climate change on people and the environment. Giles Clarke’s “The Guardian Angel of Guatemala” examines the life of Dr. Jorge Chiu, a cardiothoracic surgeon who also serves as a paramedic in the violent streets of Guatemala City, and “Tor Seidel: Video Art Now” showcases a number of graduate films from the University of Sharjah’s College of Fine Arts and Design’s video art courses from 2019 to 2022.

The festival will screen Beno Saradzic’s “25 Hertz,” which includes six of his best time-lapse videos, on Tuesday, February 14. The movie emphasizes the complexity of our contemporary world as it coexists with the splendor of stunning cityscapes.
