UAE will host the Arab Judo Championship and Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in October and November

According to Mohammed Bin Thaaloob Al Derie, President of the UAE Judo Federation (UAEJF), the UAE will host the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam from October 24 to October 26 and the Arab Judo Championship for all age groups and genders in Fujairah from November 16 to 20.

As part of the preparation for competing in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam 2023, Al Derie also announced the establishment of a special training camp for the national team in Bulgaria. This camp will be held in preparation for the Judo World Masters, which will be held in Budapest from August 4–6, and will pave the way for the UAE team’s participation in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.

Al Derie emphasised that the federation’s programme for the upcoming period focuses on prioritising various age groups in judo at both local and Arab levels. He went on to say that the men’s judo team will also compete in the Astana Grand Slam 2023, which will take place in the capital of Kazakhstan from June 16 to June 18, followed by the Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam in Mongolia from June 23 to June 25.
