Abu Dhabi – Asdaf News:
The ‘Medad’ Library Services Platform was introduced by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), a division of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), in order to offer the greatest library user experience and guarantee that it complies with future library standards.
The initiative, which is a part of the ALC’s National Reading Month 2023 activities, aims to support the UAE’s cultural and knowledge sectors’ comprehensive digital transformation by coordinating initiatives with the most cutting-edge technologies currently being used in libraries and the information sector globally.
Stakeholders can take advantage of a variety of digital services, such as creating library memberships, book lending, automatic indexing, electronic searches, access to digital databases, and communication with library specialists, among others, through the “Medad” Library Services Platform and its library services website portal.
Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the ALC, said, “Digitisation touches every aspect of life today, including the fields of culture, education, and creativity. The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre is keeping pace with this major shift, implementing projects to digitise culture and knowledge and ensure the widest possible audiences have seamless access to these resources. The ‘Medad’ Library Services Platform is a remarkable new addition to the Centre’s digital initiatives, offering comprehensive library services and adhering to the highest standards of security to ensure reliability for users.”
Further details on the administration of specialized libraries in particular, as well as general information about the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, are accessible through the platform’s website portal.
