The Al Maleh and Fishing Festival begins in Sharjah Tomorrow

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), in collaboration with the Municipality of Dibba Al Hisn, will host the 10th annual “Al Maleh and Fishing Festival” beginning on Thursday evening in Dibba Al Hisn city and continuing until September 3rd.

The four-day event this year, which will focus on the background and relevance of the fish salting industry, promises a wide range of cultural, entertainment, heritage, and awareness activities.

The festival, which will take place on Al Hisn Island in the honourable city, will bring together various government agencies, businesses in the private sector, establishments that specialize in the manufacturing of Al Maleh and its derivatives, fisherman, and prosperous families.

The festival’s prominence as a top historical and tourism event in the area that highlights the fish salting sector is evidenced by the considerable participation.

Visitors to the event will explore the vast range of Al Maleh items and the depths of Emirati culture, discovering a singular blend of joyful and heritage atmospheres.

A number of cultural and artistic events will be held at the gathering, in addition to workshops showcasing old-fashioned methods of preparing Al Maleh, canning, and fishing. Visitors will also be drawn to exhibits of folkloric heritage that speak to East Coast culture.
