Stylish and practical clothes for all bodies at London Fashion Week

Riyadh – Asdaf News:

In an effort to fill a market gap, fashion designer Victoria Jenkins debuted a line of fashionable and useful clothing for individuals with impairments on the runway at London Fashion Week on Friday (Feb. 17).

At the “Unhidden: A New Era in Fashion” event, which took place at the showroom of the shoe company Kurt Geiger, about 30 models, all of whom have a disability, a chronic illness, or a visible difference, modeled flowy dresses with easy access around the waist as well as vibrant chiffon tie shirts with adjustable sleeves.

“Unhidden is an adaptive fashion brand… primarily targeted at inclusion within fashion of people with disabilities,” Jenkins told Reuters.

The need for clothing made for all bodies was initially identified by Jenkins, who has limited movement, in 2016 while a patient in a hospital. Another patient brought it up.

She chose to use her prior skills as a textile engineer to launch her own business after being surprised to see that only a select few companies, notably Tommy Hilfiger, offer such fashion for everyone.

“When I had this idea, it was like a light bulb and just everything changed,” she said.

“It helps me personally… but also I see the impact around me of people being able to dress how they need to.”
