Start of the 10th G2 Fujairah International Taekwondo Championship

Riyadh – Asdaf News:

The Fujairah Martial Arts Club and UAE Taekwondo Federation have opened the 10th G2 Fujairah International Taekwondo Championship at the Zayed Sports Complex under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

The emirate, where it was originally held in 2013, is commemorating its 10th anniversary and has welcomed 1,458 warriors from 36 nations.

Juniors events kicked out across on Wednesday a variety of age divisions, and Fatima Al Jami stole the show by winning gold in the -55kg weight class for the World Taekwondo-sponsored Refugee Team. Following Wael Farrag from the Azraq Camp in Jordan last year, this is the team’s second appearance in Fujairah. It also follows Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad’s amazing support, which helped to establish the centers in numerous refugee camps throughout the world.

Incredibly, on the first day, Khazakhstan won seven gold, six silver, and fifteen bronze medals for a total of 28 medals. The UAE fighters won 15 medals for the host country, including one for Shamma Al-Suwaidi, who also won bronze last week at the Arab Cup for the -59kg division. The UAE fighters won four gold, two silver, and nine bronze medals total. While Uzbekistan managed to win two gold, two silver, and four bronze medals, Egypt managed to win seven medals, including three gold, one silver, and three bronze. Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Lithuania all received gold medals, while Syria and Bahrain were content with silver medals.
