Riyadh – Asdaf News:
Saudi Arabia is celebrating the Flag Day for the first time, today.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has established March 11 as Flag Day in a royal decree to honour the Saudi Arabian flag, which has a long history stretching back to the founding of the country in 1727 AD.
The original Saudi flag was green with a white stripe and the Arabic shahada slogan in the middle. Since since, it has undergone numerous revisions. Later, two crossed swords were added. The Arabic shahada phrase and a straight sword were later added to the contemporary flag, which is simple green.
Celebrations are held in Kingdom regions to celebrate the first Flag Day.
Around the city’s entertainment districts, primarily Boulevard Riyadh City and Boulevard World, a variety of events are planned in Riyadh, including spectacular drone shows, firework displays, and performances by a number of well-known bands that celebrate the national holiday by instilling national pride.
