The Saudi director Afnan Bawyan’s animated short “Saleeg,” which won the “Daw” Film Competition, will premiere at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, which runs until June 17, according to the Film Commission.
The short film is up for the “Perspectives” category’s best animated short film prize. The festival programme will include four days of screenings of it. The narrative of “Saleeg” explores the impact that a regional desert meal may have on neighbourly ties. The animated movie’s production took 10 months to finish.
