Riyadh – Asdaf News:
With more than 30 million visitors to the Kingdom, Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb emphasised that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the G20 country with the fastest-growing tourism industry. He continued by saying that this accounted for 40% of the intended tourist population and that the industry was one of the main drivers of economic expansion.
On Tuesday’s Future Investment Initiative (FII) plenary, “What Is the Vision for High-Growth Industry?” Al-Khateeb stated that efforts are in progress to increase the travel and tourism sector’s GDP contribution from 3% in 2019 to 10% by 2030, as well as to reach 100 million domestic and international tourists.
He made the point that the Kingdom is investing more than $800 billion in the tourism industry through initiatives like the Red Sea, Diriyah, and Qiddiya projects, as well as other private initiatives in different parts of the Kingdom that support the growth of the industry. He went on to say that the Kingdom will be among the first nations to pass regulations that will encourage business and make it one of the most productive industries.–SPA
