The Rocket League tournaments, the third event of “Gamers Without Borders” 2023, the greatest philanthropic gaming and electronic sports (Esports) event in the world, came to an end here yesterday.
The top teams and players from across the globe competed in the four-day tournament for the chance to win the biggest portion of the $2 million in philanthropic rewards offered by the event.
The “Gamers Without Borders 2023: North America” competition, which was place on May 1-2, had participation from 8 teams: “G2 Esports,” “Complexity,” “Version1,” “Spacestation,” “Boulevard,” “Team Axle,” “Optic,” and “KOI.”
After defeating the “KOI” squad, the “Version1” team was successful in claiming the North American championship (4-0). The “G2 Esports” and “Optic” teams made it to the semifinals, where they fell to the winner (4-0) and the runner-up, respectively (3-1).
The four teams qualified for the finals of the Gamers Season: “Land of Heroes,” the biggest gaming and esports competition in the world, which will start on July 6 at the Boulevard Riyadh City and extend for more than two months with a $45 million prize pool.
The “Version 1” team members expressed their joy at earning a spot in the biggest Rocket League tournament of the 2023 calendar year, the Gamers Season: Land of Heroes. They also emphasized the significance of their victory because it would elevate them to a higher position in the upcoming international competition.
The “Gamers Without Borders 2023: Europe” tournaments, which took place on May 3 and 4, featured participation from 8 teams, including “Oxygen Esports,” “G1,” “German Amigos,” “Team Vitality,” “Monkeys,” “Team BDS,” and “SUHHH.”
The “Team Vitality” squad defeated the “Monkeys” team with a score of (4-1) to win the European championship. The “SUHHH” and “Oxygen Esports” teams joined the two finalists as they all secured spots in the Gamers Season: Land of the Heroes conclusion.
Given the difficulty of the competition, Team Vitality remarked that winning the Rocket League title within Gamers Without Borders was an awesome sensation.
Also, they emphasized their excitement to take part in a unique event like “Gamers Season: Land of Heroes,” where competitions have a special system, and the team’s confidence in its excellent prospects to win the tournament.
The Saudi Esports Federation is in charge of organizing “Gamers Without Borders” (SEF).
It will help global humanitarian groups and institutions, including Direct Relief, IMC, UNICEF, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the World Food Program, in its fourth edition this year (WFP).
Elite players will compete for $10 million in charitable rewards to support and meet a variety of pressing humanitarian needs throughout the world.
Six weeks will pass during the fourth edition of competitions for some of the most well-known video games in the world, including StarCraft II, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and Rocket League.
