FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Gets Arab Union’s Best Tourism Sport Event Award for German Tourist Media

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 won the prize for the finest tourist and sports festival hosted on Arab soil in 2022 from the Arab Union for Tourism Media.

This occurred on Wednesday in Berlin, the capital of Germany, at the Union’s announcement of the winners of the Tourism Media Awards for 2023. ITB Berlin is an international trade show taking place in Germany from March 7 to March 9 with exhibitors from more than 150 nations.

The ceremony was held in the Jordan Pavilion in front of representatives from the World Tourism Organization, the Arab Union for Tourist Media, and a number of tourist authorities from Arab nations. Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Makram Al-Qaisi, declared the winners.

In addition to the awards for the best CEO of an Arab tourism authority, the best personality in the Arab tourism bodies, the best Arab hotel management, the best Arab tourist destination for 2023, and the best Arab tourism, the awards included the Man of the Arab Heritage 2023 Award, the Arab Heritage Personality Award for the year 2023, the Best City Award for Sustainable Tourism, and the Best Arab Event Award for Sustainable Tourism for the Climate Change Conference (COP 27).

Together with a number of prizes given to social media influencers, the names of the winners of the tourist media awards were also revealed. These honors were granted in the areas of journalism, radio, and television.

In a statement, Dr. Sultan Al Yahyai, the chairman of the Arab Union for Tourist Media, said that the winners are individuals and organizations from different Arab nations who have made exceptional and noteworthy contributions to the tourist sector. This year, the Awards Committee was eager to establish standards for consistently choosing the top candidates for those awards, which have grown in significance throughout the Arab world.

The awards’ high standing in the globe, which has made them an example of recognizing creators in the tourism and heritage media industries, is reflected in its introduction during ITB Berlin, the biggest tourism convention in the world, according to Al Yahyai.
