DCT hosts the exceptional screening of Tom Cruise’s new film “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One”

In an atmosphere filled with excitement and entertainment, a unique event was held in different cities to showcase the Movie “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One”, which had several of its scenes filmed in Abu Dhabi.

This marvellous artistic event organized by Abu Dhabi department of Culture and Tourism, as part of its ongoing efforts to provide unique events, moments and unparalleled experiences in line with the country values and culture, and to encourage innovation.

The event began with a short welcome speech by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi , who highlighted some of the spectacular and technically complex scenes that were filmed in Abu Dhabi, as it’s not the first time Abu Dhabi has been chosen to film some scenes for the ‘Mission: Impossible’ film series, following the successful experience of filming the HALO jump scene in the film ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’.

The behind-the-scenes footage shown at the event revealed the filming of some scenes for the current film series inside the new ‘Midfield’ building, and on its rooftop, which spans an area of 742,000 square meters. This building houses the new Abu Dhabi Airport, which is set to open at the end of this year 2023, and it is considered to be the largest airport terminal in the world with giant arches can reach 180 meters in height, this film allowed the public to see its design and shape for the first time on cinema screens.

Prior to the screening of the film, which was directed by Christopher McQuarrie and featuring the most prominent stars such as Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Simon Pegg, some advertisements were shown, accompanied by a short film that included the appearance of Arab movie stars such as Ahmed Helmy, Mona Zaki, and Miami band, in addition to another video that highlighted the importance of the filmmaking industry.

As part of the event, Abu Dhabi department of Culture and Tourism presented numerous invitations targeting private companies, government offices, tour operators, and luxury travel agencies to attend an exciting and entertaining night to enjoy the whole film experience alongside networking with travel industry professionals. The invitations included some summer offers, such as free entry for children, beside drinks and popcorn served to guests before movie started. Promotional videos about Abu Dhabi and the Department of Culture and Tourism were also shown to set the mood for the event. And the event ended with some awards and complimentary attraction tickets.

It is worth noting that this prominent event, the first of its kind, was held on July 28, 2023 in Riyadh, and was not limited to Riyadh, but also organized in, Dammam and several GCC countries such as Kuwait , Bahrain and Oman and in Jeddah on August 11, 2028.
