Commemorating Baridah’s inclusion on the UNESCO List of Creative Cities
Culinary Arts Commission organizes an exhibition in Paris

In honor of Al Baridah’s inclusion on the UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy Foodie Destinations, the Culinary Arts Commission will host an exhibition at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on February 8 and 9 in collaboration with the Kingdom’s permanent delegation to UNESCO, the Qassim Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science.
The exhibition will highlight diverse cultural practices of Al Baridah city, including offering local cuisine and showcasing the city’s ideals, history, folklore, and dances on interactive screens.
Due to the application the Qassim Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented, UNESCO announced in 2021 that Al Baridah would be added to its network of Creative Cities of Gastronomy. The exhibition marks this addition.
As a result of the application the Qassim Chamber of Commerce and Industry submitted jointly with the Culinary Arts Commission, the National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, the Saudi Heritage Preservation Society, and the Kingdom’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, Al Baridah will now join the network of UNESCO’s Creative Cities of Gastronomy, the international organization announced in 2021.
