To tackle design thinking with international speakers

Dubai – Asdaf News:

As the world becomes increasingly technology-dependent, the importance of design climbs to the top. The Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) yesterday launched DIDI Design Talks, a series of free-to-attend lectures by the brightest minds in the design world to spearhead conversations on sustainable, future-ready and human-centric design.

The DIDI Design Talks kicked off with international speaker Brano Mauks, the visionary Design Director at Aufeer Design, Matador Group. Mauks discussed his leading role in designing a hydrogen supercar and experience working on several distinguished supercar projects for Ferrari and Maserati.

Commenting on the new series, Mohammed Abdullah, President of Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI), said: “We are thrilled to have launched DIDI Design Talks bringing in renowned design leaders and practitioners to share their knowledge and experiences with our community. Dubai continues to make its presence known in the global dialogue on design and innovation. Along with educating the future generation of design thinkers, we consider it our responsibility to connect like-minded individuals, international innovators, and trailblazers in the field to explore the metamorphosis of design in today’s world and the future.”

The DIDI Design Talks series was inaugurated with an opening speech by DIDI’s President, Mohammad Abdullah, followed by a brief introduction by Dean Hani Asfour and Strategic Design Management Assistant Professor, Elmar Schüller. The upcoming lectures will delve into design’s value within the local communities as a key driver of economic prosperity and stability.

DIDI was established to address the growing need for talented designers and innovators in the UAE and beyond and aims to future-proof the next generation. Accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education, the private non-profit university boasts a curriculum created in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Parsons School of Design.
