Riyadh – Asdaf News:
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has provided various recommendations for safe frying, highlighting the need of removing food residues from the oil before frying and not leaving the meal unattended on the burner before it starts to emit odours.
The SFDA also suggested gradually heating the oil before frying and gently lowering the meal into the hot oil. It was advised not to use the oil more than twice or leave it on the stove unattended.
Prior to frying, the frying surface and its surroundings should be devoid of all flammable items. Adequate ventilation is also essential. However, the SFDA cautioned that overindulging in fried food or preparing it improperly could be dangerous to one’s health because frequent reuse of frying oil can lead it to alter and develop harmful compounds.
