Riyadh – Asdaf News:
In partnership with the Literary, Publishing, and Translation Commission, the Ministry of Culture introduced the Year of Arabic Poetry 2023 project by erecting an interactive pavilion at the Formula 1 stc Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from March 17 to 19. The program seeks to acquaint visitors with Arabic poetry, including authors and works from pre-Islamic to modern times.
The pavilion includes an artwork consisting of 36 cubes divided across four columns inscribed with poetic words by eminent poets from various eras, as well as a poetic mural that embodies the initiative’s aesthetic character. Interactive screens that combine works of poetry and visual art are also on display in the pavilion.
The initiative aims to use the brilliance of the Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2023, which is being held for the third time at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, and the world’s best drivers’ challenge competition to promote diversity, originality, and growth in various artistic and creative fields on a larger scale. Also, the pavilion disperses fliers about the Year of Arabic Poetry and informs visitors of the project’s goals and ways to join part.
In keeping with the mission of the program, which is to promote “Genuine Arabic poetry with a deep-rooted past, a dynamic present, and a prosperous future,” the Year of Arabic Poetry 2023 pavilion provides an instructive and engaging trip. The effort is carried out as part of cross-government collaboration to increase the cultural presence at Kingdom-hosted events.
