Riyadh – Asdaf News:
The number of nations receiving visitor e-visas has increased to 63 following the announcement by the Ministry of Tourism that it will issue e-visas to travellers from the six newly eligible nations of Turkiye, Thailand, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Seychelles, and Mauritius for leisure, business, and religious (Umrah only) travel.
Holders of valid Schengen, UK, or US visas that were used to enter those nations before arriving in Saudi Arabia, as well as permanent residents of EU and GCC nations, the UK, and the US, are also granted a visiting e-visa.
Passengers flying on SAUDIA and Flynas can stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 96 hours before continuing on to their final destination thanks to the free 96-hour Stopover Visa.
This action is an expansion of previous initiatives to support growth and economic diversification in order to meet the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which include increasing the GDP contribution of the tourism sector from 3% to over 10% and creating one million new jobs in the Saudi tourism industry.
The visitor e-visa was introduced by the Ministry of Tourism in 2019 to give tourists and visitors from qualified nations the chance to visit the Kingdom’s tourist attractions, take part in activities for amusement, and discover Saudi culture and its genuine traditions.
In line with the continued development and extension of the Kingdom’s tourist sector infrastructure, the ministry wants to keep growing the list of nations and areas whose inhabitants are eligible for visitor e-visas.
