Open Call: submissions accepted from designers and creatives for an opportunity to showcase at the Art Jameel Shop

Art Jameel, an independent organisation that supports artists and creative communities, announces today an open call inviting exceptional talent from and/or based in the UAE and the SWANA region to submit existing products and new designs for an opportunity to join the range of limited-edition and thoughtfully-chosen items on offer at the Art Jameel Shop at Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai and the online platform.
In its inaugural edition, the open call – set to become annual – accepts submissions all throughout the months of August and September from creatives – ranging from graphic and product designers to ceramicists, jewellers and homegrown, independent publishers.
In addition to Art Jameel’s flagship store and online platform, the selected designs will be featured in the shop’s pop-ups in events across the UAE and beyond, in line with Art Jameel’s commitment to deepening audience engagement with contemporary art and ideas while embracing new talent, nurturing innovation and the development of creative networks.
To participate, submissions must include the following:
- A biography of 200 words
- A portfolio of previous works
- 3-5 clear images of the submitted product(s)
- Product concept in 100 words
- A paragraph of 200 words explaining brand identity and target audience
All submissions are done through the Google Form attached by September 30, 2021.
The Art Jameel flagship shop is based at Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai, and the online platform caters to customers and audiences across the UAE, and soon, worldwide.
