Abu Dhabi – Asdaf News:
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi is hosting the 15th edition of Abu Dhabi Art, which will feature 92 galleries from more than 31 nations and be the largest fair to date.
The art show, which will take place from November 22–26, 2023, at Manarat Al Saadiyat, is the finale of Abu Dhabi Art’s annual visual arts programme and is essential to the developing WANASA (West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia) art scene.
The annual Abu Dhabi Art fair serves as a significant cultural hub for West Asia. This year’s edition, which features 37 new and 55 returning galleries, highlights varied geographies in addition to curated exhibitions and commissions, establishing itself as a hub for learning about world art history.
The fair is still dedicated to embracing various curatorial vantage points, integrating into the neighbourhood, and playing a significant role in the Abu Dhabi and UAE art ecosystems.
The 92 participating galleries represent nations from all around the world, including galleries from Georgia, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, and Chile for the first time.
A total of 41 galleries will take part in the fair’s Modern & Contemporary division, including Rossi & Rossi (Hong Kong), Selma Feriani Gallery (Tunisia), and Bernier/Eliades (Greece).
Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, who is represented by Lawrie Shabibi Gallery in Dubai, is the visual campaign artist for 2023. His work is greatly influenced by his love of nature and the surroundings of Khorfakkan, where he was born, which is tucked between the Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman. The duty of producing the visual campaign for the fair falls to the program’s visual campaign artist. The chosen photos are then utilised in all marketing materials and to establish the fair’s identity.
